State Department of Accounting and General Services now hiring in West Hawaiʻi
Hawaiʻi Department of Accounting and General Services is now hiring on the Big Island.
The state agency is ready to fill its newly created West Hawaiʻi District Office in Kailua-Kona, which serves the West and North Hawaiʻi regions.

A wide range of jobs are available, including office assistants and trade workers.
Salaries range from about $3,500 a month to $6,700 a month. All jobs are civil service positions with state benefits such as 21 vacation days, 21 sick leave days and 13 holidays a year.
Positions are based in Kona or Honokaʻa, with some roving positions throughout the coverage area.

The positions also are part of Operation Hire Hawaiʻi, which is a targeted outreach initiative featuring an expedited state hiring process, fast-tracking qualified candidates into job opportunities throughout the state.
Operation Hire Hawaiʻi aims to provide opportunities for people impacted by layoffs, resignations, loss of federal funding and other interested job seekers.
Hawaiʻi Department of Accounting and General Services helps maintain public school facilities, state office buildings, courthouses and public libraries on the neighbor islands.
The West Hawaiʻi office manages more than 40 buildings.
“The work we do touches tens of thousands of lives … ,” said state Department of Accounting and General Services Director and Comptroller Keith Regan in a release announcing the new open positions. “We are proud to make a difference, and we hope to attract workers who share that same passion.”

Ramzi Mansour was hired in September as the new West Hawaiʻi engineering program manager. He describes the work he does as striving to build a transparent relationship with partners, projects that ensure the department’s facilities and communities receive the infrastructure and services they need and creating efficiencies and savings for the taxpayers.
