12 lane closures scheduled during week of Dec. 13-19 on Big Island state roadways

Hawai‘i Department of Transportation announces the following 12 scheduled lane closures and road work projects on Big Island state roadways during the week of Dec. 13-19.

HIGHWAY 11

OCEAN VIEW

• SINGLE LANE CLOSURE possible in either direction, between mile posts 70 and 83, from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. Dec. 15-19 for removal of existing striping, installation of centerline rumble strips, new striping and pavement markers.

PĀHALA TO NĀʻĀLEHU

• SINGLE LANE CLOSURE possible in either direction, between mile posts 50 and 60, from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. Dec. 15-19 for removal of existing striping, installation of centerline rumble strip, striping and permanent markers.

PĀPĀ

• SINGLE LANE CLOSURE possible in either direction, between mile posts 88 and 89 in the vicinity of Old Māmalahoa Highway and Pāpālani Place, from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. Dec. 15-19 for shoulder work and mowing.

VOLCANO

• SINGLE LANE CLOSURE possible in either direction, between mile posts 27 and 30 in the vicinity of Haunani Road and Kīlauea Military Camp, from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. Dec. 15-19 for Hawaiian Electric installation of new powerline poles and lines.

HIGHWAY 19

KAILUA-KONA

• SINGLE LANE CLOSURE possible in either direction, between mile posts 95 and 98, from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. Dec. 15-19 for restoring highway drains and dry wells.

NĪNOLE

• SINGLE LANE CLOSURE possible in either direction, between mile posts 17 and 20, from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. Dec. 15-19 for shoulder work and mowing.
• SINGLE LANE CLOSURE possible in either direction, between mile posts 19 and 20, from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. Dec. 15-19 for cutting grass.

HIGHWAY 130

KEAʻAU

• SINGLE LANE CLOSURE possible in either direction, between mile posts 0 and 2 in the vicinity of Māmalahoa Highway and Keaʻau-Pāhoa Road, from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. Dec. 15-19 for mulching and shoulder work.
• SINGLE LANE CLOSURE possible in either direction, between mile posts 7 and 10 in the vicinity of 33rd Avenue, from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. Dec. 15-19 for cutting grass.

HIGHWAY 190

WAIMEA

• SINGLE LANE CLOSURE possible in either direction, between mile posts 0 and 1 in the vicinity of Lindsey Road and Lālamilo Farm Road, from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. Dec. 15-19 for adjustments to the road surface.

SOUTH KOHALA

• SINGLE LANE CLOSURE possible in either direction, between mile posts 12.2 and 16.4, from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. Dec. 15-19 for adjustments to the road surface.

HIGHWAY 2000

HILO

• SINGLE LANE CLOSURE possible in either direction, between mile posts 0.5 and 2.2 in the vicinity of Kanoelehua Avenue and Komohana Street, from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. Dec. 15-19 for painting asphalt curbs and direction arrows.
