Update: Kona man missing for 9 days found in good health

Update 11:50 a.m. on Dec. 19, 2025: A man from Kailua-Kona who was reported missing on Dec. 1 has since been located just over a week later.

According to Hawai‘i Island police on Friday, Justin Harmon, 46, was found on Dec. 9 in good health.

Authorities report that 46-year-old Justin Harmon was last seen just before 7 p.m. Dec. 1 in the 75-5700 block of Alahou Street in Kailua-Kona. He was wearing a black T-shirt and dark-colored pants as well as carrying a black backpack.

Harmon is considered endangered because he might possibly be in need of medication.

He is 5-foot-9, 220 pounds, with short blonde hair and blue eyes.

Anyone with any information about Harmon’s whereabouts is urged to contact Hawai‘i Police Department’s non-emergency line at 808-935-3311 or Kona Patrol Officer Charles Caldwell-Kāʻai at 808-326-4646, ext. 253.
