Island of Hawaiʻi YMCA’s Christmas Tree Fundraiser returns for its 77th year
A pillar of Hilo’s holiday spirit for nearly 80 years has returned.
The 77th annual Island of Hawaiʻi YMCA Christmas Tree Fundraiser is officially underway.

This year’s sale offers a wide selection of Nordmann fir and Noble fir trees, ranging from 3 to 10 feet tall, along with fresh wreaths.
The Christmas tree lot, located at 300 W. Lanikaula St. in Hilo, opened Nov. 23 and will be open:
- 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. today (Nov. 28).
- 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday and Nov. 30,
- 3 p.m. to 8 p.m. Dec. 1.
Those hours will remain unchanged, unless trees are sold out.
This fundraiser continues to bring holiday joy, support youth development and empower those in the community who need it most.
All profits raised from the Christmas tree sales directly support scholarships that help children attend the YMCA’s day camp programs throughout the upcoming year.
Day camps provide high-quality child care to East Hawai‘i families during winter, spring, summer and fall school breaks. They bring parents peace of mind that their children are well-cared for in a safe and nurturing environment while allowing keiki to create lasting memories.
Visit the Island of Hawai‘i YMCA website or call 808-935-3721 for more information about the Christmas trees or YMCA’s day camps.
