Police investigating reported Halloween night robbery, assault in Ocean View

Hawai‘i Island police are investigating a reported Halloween night, Oct. 31, robbery and assault near the intersection of Prince Kūhiō Boulevard and Highway 11 in Ocean View.

A 39-year-old man reported that at 9:30 p.m., after being dropped off by a bus, he was physically assaulted by several men who also stole his personal belongings.

The victim sustained non-life threatening injuries and was treated and released from Kona Community Hospital.

He described the suspects as darker-skinned young adult men. They fled in an unknown direction from the area where the reported assault took place.
