Blood Bank of Hawai‘i hosts final Kona blood drive of 2025; last day is today
Blood Bank of Hawai‘i is in Kona this week at a temporary new location, hoping to keep up the momentum after the great turnout during its last visit to the west side of the Big Island and finish out 2025 strong.

The blood bank wraps up its final 3-day Kona blood drive of the year today in the La‘i‘ōpua 2020 conference room, located at 74-5210 Keanalehu Drive, near Kealakehe High School.
Residents are invited to make an appointment for anytime from 8 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. and contribute to the Aloha State’s blood supply needs.
Blood Bank of Hawai‘i is grateful for the West Hawai‘i community and encourages everyone — especially first-time donors — to come out and donate.
Participation of donors statewide is essential to ensure Hawai‘i maintains a steady supply of blood.
Blood drives are conducted three times each year on Maui and Kaua‘i and in Kona and Hilo on the Big Island. The next drive in West Hawai‘i won’t be now until early 2026.
So why are you still waiting? Get out to Kealakehe and donate today before you miss your chance.
Hawai‘i’s unique geography makes maintaining a stable blood supply even more critical.
Donors — by participating in the blood drive efforts — directly impact the lives of those facing medical emergencies.
