Big Island police seek help ID’ing pair thought to be involved in Kona business theft

Hawai‘i Island police are asking the public for help with identifying a man and woman thought to be involved in an August theft at a business in Kailua-Kona.

Kona Patrol officers responded at 5:16 p.m. Aug. 21 to a reported theft at the business located in the 75-5700 block of Ali‘i Drive. Their investigation revealed that a man reportedly stole a necklace valued at $2,199 from the store.

The incident was captured on the business’ video surveillance system.

Further investigation revealed that the man visited the store Aug. 18, accompanied by a woman.

The man is 6-foot-1, about 175 pounds, with short black hair, a light brown complexion, muscular build and in his early 30s. He also has an Australian accent.

He was last seen wearing a gray long-sleeve shirt, black pants and black sunglasses with circular lenses.

The woman accompanying the man is 5-foot-9, about 170 pounds, Caucasian, with long blonde/brown hair, a large build and numerous tattoos on her abdomen, chest and both arms.

She was last seen wearing a bikini top.
