Contraflow traffic in effect following accident on Route 180 in North Kona

Drivers are being urged to avoid Route 180 near the 7-mile marker in North Kona due to a lane closure caused by a vehicle collision, according to the Hawaiʻi Police Department.

Contraflow traffic is in effect between Lawaia Street and Kuahewa Street. Motorists will experience a delay for the next three hours as only one lane remains open.

Officials encouraged to use alternate routes if possible and drive with caution in the area.
