Communty invited to attend Puna Geothermal Venture quarterly meeting
Puna Geothermal Venture invites all interested community members to the quarterly meeting of the geothermal facility in Puna.

The meeting is slated for 4 p.m. today at Pāhoa Neighborhood Facility, located at 15-0322 Kauhale St., in Pāhoa, and officials with Ormat — Puna Geothermal Venture’s parent company — say it underscores the plant’s continued commitment to keep all Big Island residents informed about its latest developments.
Time will be dedicated for listening to comments, answering questions and having open, respectful dialogue with community members.
“We’re excited to share updates on our plant’s progress and this will include an update on the Repower Project that will provide up to 46 MW of clean, renewable, dispatchable energy for Hawai‘i island,” Ormat Senior Director of Hawai’i Affairs Michael Kaleikini said in an announcement about today’s meeting.
The meeting will be recorded and made available on the Puna Geothermal website for anyone unable to attend in person.
Officials encourage questions to be submitted in advance via the plant’s Public Meetings page.
Residents also can call Puna Geothermal’s toll-free response line at 808-369-9094 with questions or concerns.
Video from the previous community meeting June 24 — and more — is available now.
Leadership at the Puna plant — which since 1993 has produced electricity from geothermal resources on the Big Island — looks forward to welcoming community members and continuing the conversation.
