Kumu Keala Ching is hosting the storytelling event, “Under the New Moon,” to bring together guests, locals, and ʻohana for an evening of stories that perpetuate the journey taken by Native Hawaiian kūpuna (ancestors).

Ching’s stories are accompanied by mele and hula from the kupuna (elders) of Nā Wai Iwi Ola, a community-based educational foundation that collaborates with organizations focusing on modeling and living Hawaiian culture, traditions, and values.

This month, stories will reflect how nā pua Hawaiʻi (the flowers of Hawaiʻi) have inspired the journey of kūpuna and the knowledge of the Hawaiian people today.
