Hawaiian Electric crews are working to replace utility poles this week in Kona, which will require roadway closures on two highways.

Work is ongoing until 4 p.m. today near the intersection of Kālelei Street on Kuakini Highway in North Kona. Subsequently, the mauka lane of the highway is closed near the intersection.

The makai lane between mile markers 93.5 and 94 on Māmalahoa Highway in South Kona will be closed from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. July 24 so Hawaiian Electric crews can perform work previously scheduled for July 17.

Motorists should plan accordingly.
