Hawaiʻi County Department of Environmental Management is notifying the public that overnight sewer maintenance is scheduled this week on Makaʻala Street in Hilo.

Crews will begin their work at 8:30 p.m. June 19 and finish by 4 a.m. June 20.

Work will include hydro jetting and closed-circuit TV inspection of sewer lines as part of ongoing efforts to maintain and assess underground sewer infrastructure. This proactive maintenance helps prevent blockages, improves system performance and supports long-term planning.

The project is confined to nighttime hours to reduce traffic impacts, and crews will be off the road by 4 a.m. Friday morning.
