Gilbert Kahele Recreation Area, public restrooms to close Tuesday morning

The County of Hawai‘i Department of Parks and Recreation will close the Gilbert Kahele Recreation Area from 4 a.m. to 12 p.m. Tuesday, May 6 for vector control operations.
The recreation area is the site of the only public restrooms off Daniel K. Inouye Highway between Hilo and Kailua-Kona, and they will not be available during treatment hours.
Residents and visitors driving through the area at that time are urged to plan ahead.
