Former Hawai‘i County Mayor Mitch Roth takes new role at Central Pacific Bank
Former Hawai‘i County Mayor Mitch Roth has taken a new leadership role at Central Pacific Bank.
Roth, who served as mayor from 2020-2024, is now the institution’s senior vice president and Hawai‘i Island Region Manager. He will be based in the bank’s Hilo Branch, according to a press release from the banking institution Monday.
David Morimoto, Vice Chairman and Chief Operating Officer, said Roth has proven leadership, experience and compassion for people making him uniquely qualified to support the bank’s business and community objectives on Hawai‘i Island.
In his new role, Roth will be responsible for the bank’s strategic and tactical objectives for the Big Island, which include oversight of sales, service and community partnership that enhance employee and customer experience.
Roth said he is anxious to start his next career chapter with Central Pacific Bank saying the local institution aligns with his values of service to the community and building partnerships.
Roth, who lost re-election to the now-Mayor Kimo Alameda, was the Prosecuting Attorney for Hawai‘i County from 2012 until 2020.
Before that, he served as a Deputy Prosecuting Attorney in both Honolulu and Hawai‘i Counties from 1993 to 2012.
Roth currently serves as a board member of the Palace Theatre, the Visitor Aloha Society of Hawai‘i Island and the Daniel R. Sayre Memorial Foundation. He is also a member of the Rotary Club of Hilo, the Exchange Club, and the US Japan Council.
