A 25-year-old woman is dead following two early morning shootings Tuesday in Puna and police are actively searching for her sister’s 28-year-old ex-boyfriend who is suspected of killing her.

Isaiah Kaleo Jiaan Fourshey

Shortly after midnight on Tuesday, Puna patrol officers with Hawai’i Police Department’s Puna Patrol responded shortly after midnight Tuesday to a residence on Hibiscus Street in Mountain View after a woman called police dispatch to report that Isaiah Kaleo Jiaan Fourshey of Mountain View, her daughter’s ex-boyfriend, had come to her residence looking for her daughter.

Fourshey reportedly pulled out a handgun and shot at the woman’s husband multiple times after Fourshey was told his ex-girlfriend was not there before leaving before police arrived. The woman’s husband was not shot.

Police dispatch then got a call from Fourshey’s ex-girlfriend, who was calling from her sister’s residence on Plumeria Street in Mountain View, while officers were investigating the shooting at the home of their parents.

She reported Fourshey came to the residence, kicked in the front door and shot at her and her sister multiple times, shooting her sister.

Responding officers and Hawai‘i Fire Department personnel immediately responded to the Plumeria Street home and began attempting life-saving measures on Fourshey’s ex-girlfriend’s sister, later identified as Latisha Soares.

Soares was transported by via ambulance to Hilo Benioff Medical Center, where she was pronounced dead at 2:03 a.m.

Hawai’i Police Department Area I Criminal Investigation Section personnel responded to the Plumeria Street residence to continue the investigation, which is classified as a second-degree murder and attempted first-degree murder.

Detectives learned during the course of their investigation Tuesday that Fourshey lives at a residence on Hibiscus Street.

Police found the vehicle Fourshey was driving when they went to the home; however, he was not there.

Detectives saw additional evidence at that residence, indicating Fourshey was there following the shootings. While officers were at the property pending execution of a search warrant and recovery of his vehicle, they deployed additional personnel and assets in their search for the 28-year-old.

Area I Criminal Investigation Section detectives are continuing the investigation and their search for Fourshey, who is considered armed and dangerous.

He is described as 5-foot-10 inches tall, 165 pounds and part Hawaiian, with black hair and brown eyes.
