Two Big Island beach parks remain closed for debris cleanup following high surf

Kahalu‘u and Kohana‘iki Beach Parks remain closed for debris cleanup following high surf over the weekend.

All other beach parks are open, according to Hawai‘i County officials.

A high surf warning was in effect through the weekend impact West Hawai‘i coastlines from ʻUpolu Point in North Kohala to South Point in Kaʻū.

Surf was 8 to 12 feet.
