Hawai‘i Island police are asking if anyone can identify a woman suspected in a robbery earlier this month at a Hilo grocery store on Maka‘ala Street during which one of the store’s employees was struck by the suspect as she was leaving.

An employee of the grocery store reported an unidentified woman placed several items in a basket and proceeded to the exit without paying at about 5:30 a.m. Dec. 11.

The woman suspected in the robbery struck the employee, who confronted her as she was leaving. The suspect then left in a white Honda Civic.
