Servco Pacific purchases Big Island Toyota
Servco Pacific officially became the owner of Big Island Toyota’s Hilo and Kona locations at the beginning of December.
Servco and Big Island Toyota fulfilled the Hawaiʻi Board of Land and Natural Resources conditions for approval of the Hilo location’s lease transfer and received permission to operate and sell vehicles at both Big Island Toyota locations.
“We are humbled and honored that the DeLuz family has entrusted us with their business,” said Mark Fukunaga, executive chairman of the board at Servco Pacific. “As a fellow family-owned business, we can’t wait to welcome the Big Island Toyota team to the Servco ʻohana.”
Big Island Toyota has more than 100 employees at the two locations, operating for 65-plus years under the vision of its three late founders David S. DeLuz Sr., John Correira and Tatsuo “Baldy” Higashi.
Servco Pacific was founded in 1919 by Peter Fukunaga and has grown to become Hawaiʻi’s largest privately held and family-owned company.
Servco and Big Island Toyota are now working with their teams and each other to onboard employees and ensure a smooth transition.
The two firms have been business partners since 1966, with both sharing a commitment to team members, customers and the community.
Servco Pacific has operations in the mobility and musical instruments businesses, ranking among the top 15 automotive dealer groups in the United States with exclusive distributors of Toyota, Lexus and Subaru in Hawaiʻi.
