Update: Queen Ka’ahumanu Highway reopens after hourslong closure

Both lanes are now open on Queen Ka‘ahumanu Highway near mile marker 84, north of Ellison Onizuka Kona Airport.

The roadway was previously closed due to a traffic incident.

Motorists were routed to Kaiminani Drive to Highway 190 and Waikōloa Road for travel between Waimea, Waikōloa and Kona.

More information will be provided as it becomes available.
