Hawai‘i Department of Transportation announces its planned lane closures for the week of Nov. 16-22 on the Big Island.

Lane closure schedules can change at any time without notice. All projects are weather permitting.

— MĀMALAHOA HIGHWAY (HIGHWAY 11) —

1) PĀHALA (WEEKEND WORK)

Single-lane closure possible in either direction, between mile post 51 and 53, on Saturday, Nov. 16, from 8 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. for grass cutting.

2) PĀHALA

Single-lane closure possible in either direction, between mile post 53 and 56, in the vicinity of Nīnole Loop, on Monday through Friday, Nov. 18-22, from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. for vegetation cutting.

3) CAPTAIN COOK (WEEKEND WORK)

Single-lane closure possible in either direction, between mile post 89 and 91, in the vicinity of Papālani Place, on Saturday, Nov. 16, from 8 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. for mowing and shoulder work.

Single-lane closure possible in either direction, between mile post 90 and 92, in the vicinity of Yee Hop Ranch Road, on Monday through Friday, Nov. 18-22, from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. for vegetation cutting.

5) HŌNAUNAU

Single-lane closure possible in either direction, between mile post 97.2 and 104.7, in the vicinity of Haleili Road and the Filipino Clubhouse Road, on Monday through Friday, Nov. 18-22 from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. for safety upgrades to the roadway.

— HAWAI‘I BELT ROAD/KAWAIHAE ROAD (HIGHWAY 19) —

1) PEPE‘EKEO TO HONOMŪ

Single-lane closure possible in either direction, between mile post 12 and 13, in the vicinity of Cane Road and Pua Lane, on Monday through Friday, Nov. 18-22, from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. for vegetation cutting.

2) PEPE‘EKEO TO HAKALAU (WEEKEND WORK)

Single-lane closure possible in either direction, between mile post 12 and 15, in the vicinity of Cane Road and Chin Chuck Road, on Saturday, Nov. 16, from 8 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. for vegetation cutting and shoulder work.

3) NĪNOLE

Single-lane closure possible in either direction, between mile post 18 and 21, in the vicinity of Kaihuki road on Monday through Friday, Nov. 18-22, from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. for vegetation cutting.

— KEA‘AU-PĀHOA BYPASS ROAD (HIGHWAY 130) —

1) PĀHOA

Single-lane closure possible in either direction between mile post 8 and 10, on Monday through Friday, Nov. 18-22, from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. for vegetation cutting.

— KEA‘AU-PĀHOA BYPASS ROAD (HIGHWAY 139) —

1) PĀHOA

Single-lane closure possible in either direction, between mile post 1 and 1.18, on Monday through Friday, Nov. 18-22, from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. for vegetation cutting.

— HAWAI‘I BELT ROAD (HIGHWAY 190) —

1) KALAOA

Single-lane closure possible in either direction, between mile post 33 and 35, in the vicinity of Old Government Road and Onaona Drive, on Monday through Friday, Nov. 18-22, from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. for vegetation cutting.

— KOHALA MOUNTAIN ROAD (HIGHWAY 250) —

1) HĀWĪ (WEEKEND WORK)

Single-lane closure possible in either direction, between mile post 16 and 18, in the vicinity of Hāwī Road, on Saturday, Nov. 16, from 8 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. for mowing.

— PU‘AINAKŌ STREET (HIGHWAY 2000) —

1) HILO

Single-lane closure possible in either direction, in the vicinity of Kanoelehua Avenue and Komohana Street, on Monday through Friday, Nov. 18-22, from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. for paving the roadway and doing shoulder work as part of the Pu‘ainakō Street improvements Project.
