Come meet Rudder, Saylor, Marina, Fisher, Gilligan, Barnacle, Tugboat, Fin and Coral
The Hawai‘i Island Humane Society is shipping in a boatload of its nautically named fur babies to the shores of West Hawai‘i, and they’ll all be ready to sail away to their forever homes right away.

“We’re thrilled to share that we are popping up for our first ever Pop-Up Puppy Adoption Event!” shared the humane society in a recent Facebook post.
The puppy pop-up is planned for 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday at Petco in Kailua-Kona, located in the Kona Commons Shopping Center at 74-5446 Makala Boulevard.
“Rudder, Saylor, Marina, Fisher, Gilligan, Barnacle, Tugboat, Fin and Coral will all be joining us and hoping for their chance to make a splash in your life,” the humane society wrote. “These kiddos are likely to be medium/large sized when fully grown.”
The crew’s parents Skipper and Captain are available to become your ship’s newest officers, too.
So, if you’re looking for a first mate to navigate life with, come and adopt a puppy.
You can get a head start by submitting an adoption application on your favorite puppy’s profile at the Hawai‘i Island Humane Society’s website.
