A free tire collection event will be held between 8 a.m. and 1 p.m. on Sept. 21 at the Kea’au Middle School parking lot at 16-565 Kea’au-Pāhoa Road on the Big Island.

The free residential tire collection event is offered by the County of Hawai‘i Department of Environmental Management in collaboration with the Hawai‘i State Department of Health, council members Matt Kaneali‘i-Kleinfelder and Sue Lee Loy, and Lex Brodie’s Tires.

The initiative provides residents with a no-cost way to safely dispose of old tires, helping protect public health and the environment.
