Hawai‘i Island police seek help locating wanted man

Hawai’i Island police are requesting the public’s help in locating a man from East Hawai‘i who should be considered armed and dangerous.

Jordan Kekolonahekuahiwielawemaikealoha‘a J Botelho, 31, of Papa‘ikou, is wanted for a warrant of arrest for violation of order and burglary.

Botelho is 5-foot 7-inches tall, 160 pounds, medium build, with brown eyes and black hair. He was last seen in Papa‘ikou on Aug. 31 and is known to frequent the Papa‘ikou and Pepe‘ekeo areas.

The public is advised not to approach Botelho and to immediately contact police if they see him.

Anyone with information on Botelho’s whereabouts is asked to contact the police department’s non-emergency line at 808-935-3311. They may also contact Detective Corina McLellan, of the Area I Juvenile Aid Section, at 808-961-2276 or via e-mail corina.mclellan@hawaiicounty.gov.

Tipsters who prefer to remain anonymous may call the island-wide Crime Stoppers number at 808-961-8300 and may be eligible for a reward of up to $1,000. Crime Stoppers is a volunteer program run by ordinary citizens who want to keep their community safe.
