Meeting scheduled for upcoming Age Group 10 and Under Basketball League

Do you have an 8- to 10-year-old hoopster who wants more time on the hardwood? Would you like to help coach a team?

The Hawai’i County Department of Parks and Recreation is hosting an organizational meeting at 5 p.m. Thursday at Aunty Sally Kaleohano’s Lūʻau Hale, located at 799 Piilani St. in Hilo, for the upcoming Age Group 10 and Under Basketball League.

The league is open to boys and girls ages 8 to 10 years old. Participants must be at least 8 years old by Sept. 16 or 11 years old after Dec. 1.

Team packets will be distributed at the meeting. League rules, format and scheduling will also be discussed.

The league is scheduled to start play Sept. 16, with games Monday through Thursday.
