Hilo man sentenced to prison in 2 separate felony drug cases
A Hilo man was sentenced to 20 years in prison for two separate drug cases.
On Friday, 39-year-old Clint K. Delos Santos appeared in Hilo Circuit Court where the judge passed sentencing for incidents that occurred over the past two years, one in Hilo and the other in Kona. The court ordered that punishment be served concurrently for a total of 20 years.
On Jan. 4, 2024, Delos Santos appeared in Kona Circuit Court where he entered a “No Contest” plea to first-degree promotion of a dangerous drug, stemming from an incident in Kona last year.
According to police reports, on Sept. 26, 2023, Hawai‘i Police Department’s Area II Vice officers executing a narcotics search warrant recovered about six ounces of methamphetamine, two digital scales, over 50 clean and unused empty red zip packets, and other drug paraphernalia from Delos Santos’ Kalawa Street apartment in Kona.
On May 30, 2024, Delos Santos appeared in Hilo Circuit Court again where he entered a “Guilty” plea to the offense of first-degree promotion of a dangerous drug stemming from an incident in 2022.
According to police reports, on Feb. 9, 2022, Area I Vice officers executing a narcotics search warrant upon Delos Santos’ Honda Accord, which was previously parked within the parking lot of the Reeds Bay Hotel in Hilo, recovered about two ounces of methamphetamine and seven clean and unused zip packets.
