Hawai’i Island police are seeking the public’s help in identifying suspects responsible for assaulting a 16-year-old boy who suffered a 4-inch cut to the face.

The incident occurred in the early morning hours of July 30 at the Mo’oheau Bus Terminal in downtown Hilo.

According to police, the teen told authorities he was mobbed by several unknown male individuals and was cut on his face by one of the suspects who used a bifold-type blade. The victim fled the area and was later found at the Hilo Walmart where EMS personnel responded and treated his facial injury.

The teen was transported to the Hilo Benioff Medical Center where he was treated for the cut to his face and later released to a family member.
