UPDATE: Previously reported missing 18-year-old located in good health
Update at 10:18 a.m. July 17: The Hawai’i Police Department reports that 18-year-old Kainalu Kawaakoa Bergau, who was previously reported missing, was located July 11 in good health.
Original post from 4:56 p.m. June 25: Big Island police are asking the public if anyone has seen 18-year-old Kainalu Kawaakoa Bergau, who was initially reported as a runaway and since reached “the age of majority” of 18.
Kawaakoa Bergau was last seen Jan. 22 in Hilo, when he left a home on Kino‘ole Street without permission.
He is described as 5-foot-6, 160 pounds, with black hair, brown eyes and a brown complexion. He is known to frequent Hilo and Puna.
