Big Island Democrats invite voters to meet party candidates at July 19 rally

The Hawai‘i County Democratic Party is inviting Big Island voters to meet Democratic candidates face-to-face before the August primary election.

Numerous candidates running for office in the August 2024 Primary Election will come together from 5-7:30 p.m. on July 19 at the Mo‘oheau Bandstand in downtown Hilo for the Hawai‘i County Democratic Party’s 63rd Annual Primary Grand Rally.

Candidates running for federal, state and county offices will speak from the venue’s stage. Candidates and their supporters plan to line up along Kamehameha Avenue starting at 4 p.m. to wave signs.

Emcee Andy Kahili will begin the event. County Party Chair Pono Kekela will introduce Hui Okinawa Kobudo Taiko for a traditional taiko drum performance.

There is no charge to attend and all are welcome, according to organizers.
