Big Island weekly lane closures for June 15-21

The Hawai‘i Department of Transportation is notifying the public about its scheduled lane closures for the week of June 8-14.

Be aware that closure schedules can change at any time, without notice. All projects also are weather permitting.

— MĀMALAHOA HIGHWAY/HAWAI‘I BELT ROAD (HIGHWAY 11) —

1) PĀHALA (WEEKEND WORK)

Single lane closure possible in either direction between mile posts 52 and 54, in the vicinity of Maile Street and Kaʻalāiki Road, on Saturday and Sunday, June 15-16, from 8:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. for grass cutting.

Single lane closure possible in either direction between mile posts 52 and 54, in the vicinity of Maile Street and Kaʻalāiki Road, Monday, June 17, from 8:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. for grass cutting.

3) NĀ‘ĀLEHU

Single lane closure possible in either direction between mile posts 61 and 65, in the vicinity of Kaalualu Road, Monday through Friday, June 17-21, from 8 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. for grass cutting.

4) CAPTAIN COOK

Single lane closure possible in either direction between mile posts 97 and 104, in the vicinity of Haleili Street and Filipino Clubhouse Road, Monday through Friday, June 17-21, from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. for crews to work on safety improvements on the roadway.

— HAWAI‘I BELT ROAD (HIGHWAY 19) —

1) HILO

Single lane closure possible in either direction between mile posts 2 and 5, in the vicinity of Mo‘oheau Park and Kahoa Place, on Monday, June 17, from 8 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., for grass trimming.

2) PEPE‘EKEO TO HAKALAU

Single lane closure possible in either direction, between mile posts 10 and 15, in the vicinity of Chin Chuck Road, Monday through Friday, June 17-21, from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. for drilling and sampling the soil for future projects.

3) PĀPA‘ALOA TO ‘O‘ŌKALA (WEEKEND WORK)

Single lane closure possible in either direction, between mile posts 19 and 27, in the vicinity of Jardine Road, on Saturday and Sunday, June 15-16, from 8 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. for grass cutting.

4) PĀPA‘ALOA TO ‘O‘ŌKALA

Single lane closure possible in either direction, between mile posts 19 and 27, in the vicinity of Jardine Road, on Monday, June 17, from 8 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. for grass cutting.

— KEAʻAU-PĀHOA ROAD/PĀHOA BYPASS ROAD (HIGHWAY 130) —

1) PĀHOA

Single lane closure possible in either direction, between mile posts 10 and 15, in the vicinity of Alaili Road, from Monday through Friday, June 17-21, from 8 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. for grass trimming.

— DANIEL K. INOUYE HIGHWAY/SADDLE ROAD (HIGHWAY 200) —

1) HILO (WEEKEND WORK)

Single lane closure possible in either direction between mile posts 5 and 16, on Saturday and Sunday, June 15-16, from 8 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., for shoulder work and mechanical mowing.

2) HILO

Single lane closure possible in either direction between mile posts 5 and 16, on Monday, June 17, from 8 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., for shoulder work and mechanical mowing.

3) HILO

Single lane closure possible in either direction between mile posts 12 and 22, on Monday through Friday, June 17-21, from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m., for shoulder work and mechanical mowing.

— KOHALA MOUNTAIN ROAD (HIGHWAY 20) —

1) KAPAʻAU

Single lane closure possible in either direction, between mile posts 9 and 13, on Monday through, June 17-21, from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. for shoulder work.

— PUAINAKO STREET (HIGHWAY 2000) —

1) HILO

Single lane closure possible in either direction, in the vicinity of Kanoelehua Avenue and Komohana Street, on Monday through Friday, June 17-21, nightly from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. for paving the roadway for the Puainako Street widening project.
