Hawai’i Island police have identified the woman suspected of passing a counterfeit $100 bill on April 24 at a business in Hilo.

Area I Criminal Investigation Section detectives identified the woman on June 8, following numerous tips from the public identifying her as the owner of a business in Hilo.

At this time, police believe the woman’s business unknowingly received the counterfeit bill as payment for goods, and that she is not responsible for producing any counterfeit U.S. currency.
