Hawai‘i Department of Transportation announced weekly lane closures for April 13-19. Lane closure schedules may change at any time without further notice. All projects are weather permitting.

—MĀMALAHOA HIGHWAY/HAWAI‘I BELT ROAD (ROUTE 11) —

MOUNTAIN VIEW

Single lane closure on Volcano Highway (Route 11) possible in either direction between mile post 13.6 to 14.4, beginning Monday, April 15 through Friday, April 19, from 8:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. for application of new striping on the speed humps at Mountain View Elementary, Gas Station and Post Office.

Single lane closure on Māmalahoa Highway (Route 11) possible in either direction, between mile post 44 to 46, beginning Monday, April 15 through Friday, April 19, from 8:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. for vegetation cutting.

Single lane closure on Māmalahoa Highway (Route 11) possible in either direction between mile post 90 to 91, beginning Monday, April 15 through Friday, April 19, from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. for vegetation cutting.

Single lane closure on Māmalahoa Highway (Route 11) possible in either direction between mile post 90 and 92, on Saturday, April 13, from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. for vegetation cutting.

Single lane closure on Māmalahoa Highway (Route 11) possible in either direction between mile post 97.2 to 104.7, in the vicinity of Haleili Street and Filipino Clubhouse Road, beginning Monday, April 15 through Friday, April 19, from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. for crews to work on safety improvements of the roadway.

Single lane closure on Kalanianaole Street/Hawai‘i Belt Road (Route 19) possible in either direction, in the vicinity of Kūhiō Street, beginning Monday, April 15 through Friday, April 19, from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. for installation of new roadway striping and reflective markers.

HILO TO PAPA‘IKOU (WEEKEND WORK)

Single lane closure on Hawaii Belt Road (Route 19) possible in either direction between mile post 3 and 6, in the vicinity of Old Māmalahoa Highway, on Saturday, April 13, from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. for vegetation cutting.

PAPA‘IKOU

Single lane closure on Hawai‘i Belt Road (Route 19) possible in either direction, between mile post 7.08 and 7.12, in the vicinity of Old Māmalahoa Highway, beginning Monday, April 15 through Friday, April 19, from 8:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. for the installation of roadway striping on the speed hump at Haaheo Elementary School.

PAPA‘IKOU TO PEPE‘EKEO

Single lane closure on Hawai‘i Belt Road (Route 19) possible in either direction, between mile post 8 to 10, in the vicinity of Hanawi Street and Kulaimano Road, beginning Monday, April 15 through Friday, April 19, from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. for vegetation cutting.

HAKALAU (WEEKEND WORK)

Single lane closure on Hawai‘i Belt Road (Route 19) possible in either direction, between mile post 14 to 15.5, in the vicinity of Kolekole Beach Park and Old Māmalahoa Highway, on Saturday, April 13, from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. for grass cutting.

HAKALAU

Single lane closure on Hawai‘i Belt Road (Route 19) possible in either direction, between mile post 15 to 18, in the vicinity of Chin Chuck Road and Old Māmalahoa Highway, beginning Monday, April 15 through Friday, April 19, from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. for vegetation cutting and shoulder work.

PAPA‘ALOA TO O‘OKALA

Single lane closure on Hawai‘i Belt Road (Route 19) possible in either direction, between mile post 23 to 27.6, in the vicinity of Stevens Road, beginning Monday, April 15 through Friday, April 19, from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. for applying new roadway striping and reflective markers.

KAMUELA

Single lane closure on Hawai‘i Belt Road (Route 19) possible in either direction, between mile post 51 to 54, in the vicinity of Iokua Place, beginning Monday, April 15 through Friday, April 19, from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. for application of new roadway striping and reflective markers.

— STAINBACK HIGHWAY —

HILO TO MOUNTAIN VIEW

Full closure on Stainback Highway in both directions, in the vicinity of Panaewa Rainforest Zoo and North Kulani Road, beginning Monday, April 15 through Friday, April 19, from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. for resurfacing of the roadway.

— KEA‘AU-PĀHOA ROAD/PĀHOA-BYPASS ROAD (ROUTE 130) —

KEA‘AU

Single lane closure on Kea‘au-Pāhoa Road (Route 130) possible in either direction, between mile post 0 to 4.2, in the vicinity of Hawai‘i Belt Road and Pohaku Drive, beginning Monday, April 15 through Friday, April 19, from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. for installation and upgrading of utility poles, conduits and traffic cabinets.

PĀHOA (WEEKEND WORK)

Single lane closure on Kea‘au-Pāhoa Road (Route 130) possible in either direction between mile post 7 to 9, on Saturday, April 13, from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. for vegetation cutting.

Single lane closure on Kea‘au-Pāhoa Road/Pāhoa-Bypass Road (Route 130) possible in either direction between mile post 9 to 11, beginning Monday, April 15 through Friday, April 19, from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. for vegetation cutting.

Single lane closure on Pāhoa-Bypass Road (Route 130) possible in either direction, between mile post 11.3 to 11.5, beginning Monday, April 15 through Friday, April 19 from 8:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. for application of new striping on the speed hump at the intersection of Kea‘au-Pāhoa Road and Post Office Road.

— MĀMALAHOA HIGHWAY (ROUTE 190) —

WAIMEA

Single lane closure on Māmalahoa Highway (Route 190) possible in either direction, between mile post 0.18 to 0.23, beginning Monday, April 15 through Friday, April 19 from 8:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. for crews to install new roadway striping on the speed hump at Ulu La‘au Lane.

— KOHALA MOUNTAIN ROAD (ROUTE 250) —

KAMUELA

Single lane closure on Kohala Mountain Road (Route 250) possible in either direction, between mile post 0.01 to 0.11, in the vicinity of Kawaihae Road and Hawaii Preparatory Academy Road, beginning Monday, April 15 through Friday, April 19, from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. for crews to installation of new roadway striping and reflective markers.

KAMUELA

Single lane closure on Kohala Mountain Road (Route 250) possible in either direction between mile post 6.17 to 10.6, beginning Monday, April 15 through Friday, April 19, from 8 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. for crews to clean and dress the roadway shoulders and removal of Best Management Practices (BMP’s).

Single lane closure on Kohala Mountain Road (Route 250) possible in either direction, between mile post 9 to 13, on Saturday, April 13, from 8 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. for vegetation cutting and tree trimming.

Single lane closure on Kohala Mountain Road (Route 250) possible in either direction, between mile post 9 to 13, beginning Monday, April 15 through Friday, April 19, from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. for shoulder work and tree trimming.

Single lane closure on Puainako Street (Route 2000) possible in either direction, in the vicinity of Kanoelehua Ave and Komohana Street, beginning Monday, April 15 through Friday, April 19, from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. for preparation work as part of the Puainako Street Widening Project.
