Hawai‘i County and state officials are holding a public meeting to discuss the findings reported in the Draft Environmental Assessment and offer an opportunity for the public to provide feedback on a proposed new transit hub and co-located library in Pāhoa Town.

The transit hub and library are intended to support comfort and safety for transit riders, promote other multi-modal uses such as walking and biking, and provide amenities and gathering spaces for the greater Pāhoa community.

A community meeting to discuss the previous planning process and findings in the Draft Environmental Assessment will take place on April 17 from 5 to 7 p.m. at the Pāhoa Neighborhood Facility, located at 3016 Kauhale St. The County of Hawai‘i Mass Transit Agency, Planning Department, and Hawai‘i State Public Library System will be available to answer questions on the project.

Public comment on the assessment is currently being taken and ends May 1.
