No injuries were reported following an early morning structure fire in Ocean View.

At 2:47 a.m., Hawai‘i Fire Department responded to the blaze on the 92-8000 block of Orchid Parkway where they found a single-family home, 40 feet by 25 feet, partially involved in flames. The fire was contained to the carport and storage area.

After getting the fire under control, crews searched and didn’t find anyone in the residence. Hawai‘i Island police also responded to the scene to assist.

While the cause of the fire is undetermined at this time, fire officials suspect squatters were staying at the property.
