Queen’s North Hawaiʻi Community Hospital offering 4 scholarships to Big Island residents

Queen’s North Hawai’i Community Hospital in Kamuela has several college scholarship opportunities available.

The Peggy Dineen-Orsini Scholarship offers $2,000 to a Big Island resident who is enrolled in or accepted for enrollment in a National League of Nursing accredited program in Hawai‘i or on the mainland. Private donors fund this scholarship in memory of Peggy Dineen-Orsini, who was a registered nurse at Queen’s North Hawai’i Community Hospital from 1996 to 2004. Dineen-Orsini is remembered for her compassion for her patients, colleagues and friends.

The Queen’s North Hawai’i Community Hospital medical staff is offering two $1,000 scholarships to Big Island residents who demonstrate financial need and are currently enrolled in a program to obtain a health care profession degree.

Hawai‘i Emergency Physicians Associated is offering a $3,000 scholarship to a graduating high school student who demonstrates financial need and who without assistance would have no opportunity to attend college.

Applications and instructions are available at www.nhch.com under the “News” tab; or call the hospital’s Fund Development office at 881-4420. Completed applications and required documents must be received or postmarked by May 31.
