Update at 5:02 p.m. March 30: The Hawai‘i Police Department reports that Waikōloa Road, between Queen Ka‘ahumanu Highway and Waikōloa Village, in South Kohala near Waikoloa Village is now open.

Original post: The Hawai‘i Police Department reports that a portion of Waikōloa Road, between Queen Ka‘ahumanu Highway and Waikōloa Village, is closed in South Kohala because of a traffic incident.

Motorists in the area are advised to use alternate routes.

Updates will be given as conditions change.
