Hawai‘i Island police seeking missing 16-year-old runaway

The Hawai‘i Island Police Department is asking for the public’s assistance in locating 16-year-old Leanna-Jahzet Navarrete, who has been reported as a runaway.

According to a police statement, Navarette was last seen just after 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, February 20, 2024, on Kino‘ole Street in Hilo, wearing a gray sweat shirt and pants, black slippers, and carrying a black backpack. She is believed to be in the Puna district.

Navarette is described as having a tan complexion, 5 feet 6 inches tall, 120 pounds, with black hair and brown eyes.

Police ask that anyone with information about Navarrete’s whereabouts to please call the police department’s non-emergency line at (808) 935-3311 or Officer Corey Kaneko at (808) 961-8843 or email: [email protected].
