Update: Missing elderly man located in good health

Update at 8:20 a.m. Feb. 29: Big Island police reported the morning of Feb. 29 that 87-year-old Tetsuya Yamada, who was reported missing yesterday evening, was located in good health in Hilo at 7:20 a.m.  

Original post: The Hawai‘i Police Department is seeking missing person Tetsuya Yamada, an 87-year-old man last seen on Ainalako Road in Hilo on Feb. 28 at 12:30 p.m.

The department stated Yamada poses a significant threat to life or property in an announcement just after 5:30 p.m. on Feb. 28.

Yamada is Japanese, 5 feet six inches tall and 162 pounds.
