Rainbow Friends Animal Sanctuary in Kurtistown is celebrating 25 years of helping animals on the Big Island and asking the community to share love and aloha by donating to help upgrade its water system and infrastructure.

A generous donor has offered to match any size donation up to $5,000 through Feb. 29 so the sanctuary can keep the animals in need it shelters hydrated.

There are several ways you can help:

  • Contribute directly by clicking here.
  • Contribute by sending a check to: Rainbow Friends Animal Sanctuary, P.O. Box 1259, Kurtistown, HI 96760.
  • Contribute by visiting the sanctuary’s website.

If you want to volunteer at the sanctuary, located at 17-382 Thirteen Mile Road, call 808-982-5110 to set up a time to visit. Dog walkers and cat companions are always needed.
