Hawai‘i Island weekly lane closures: Jan. 6-12

Hawai‘i State Department of Transportation announced weekly lane closures on the Big Island for Jan. 6-12. Lane closure schedules may change at any time without further notice.

All projects are weather permitting.

—MĀMALAHOA HIGHWAY/HAWAI‘I BELT ROAD (ROUTE 11) —

KEA‘AU

Single lane closure on Māmalahoa Highway (Route 11) possible in either direction between mile post 7.25 to 7.36, in the vicinity of Kea‘au-Pāhoa Road, on Monday, Jan. 8 through Thursday, Jan. 11 from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. for restriping of crosswalks, lane lines and directional arrows.

NA‘ALEHU (WEEKEND WORK)

Single lane closure on Māmalahoa Highway (Route 11) possible in either direction between mile post 66 to 69, in the vicinity of Kaulia Road, on Saturday, Jan. 6 from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. for vegetation cutting.

CAPTAIN COOK

Single lane closure on Māmalahoa Highway (Route 11) possible in either direction between Ohana Road and Papalani Road, on Monday, Jan. 8 through Friday, Jan. 12 from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. for vegetation cutting.

Single lane closure on Hawai‘i Belt Road (Route 19) possible in either direction in the vicinity of Kahoa Place and Ka‘apoko Homestead Road beginning Monday, Jan. 8 through Friday, Jan. 12 from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. for vegetation cutting around guardrails.

PĀPA‘IKOU (WEEKEND WORK)

Single lane closure on Hawai‘i Belt Road (Route 19) possible in either direction between mile post 6.2 and 6.4, in the vicinity of Kapue Stream Bridge on Saturday, Jan. 6 and Sunday, Jan. 7 from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. for emergency repairs to Kapue Stream Bridge.

Single lane closure on Hawai‘i Belt Road (Route 19) possible in either direction between mile post 6.2 and 6.4, in the vicinity of Kapue Stream Bridge beginning Monday, Jan. 8 through Friday, Jan. 12 from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. for emergency repairs to Kapue Stream Bridge.

Single lane closure on Hawai‘i Belt Road (Route 19) possible in either direction, between mile post 6 and 9, in the vicinity of Ka‘aukai Place and Onohi Loop beginning Saturday, Jan. 6 from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. for vegetation cutting.

HONOMŪ TO NINOLE (WEEKEND WORK)

Single lane closure on Hawai‘i Belt Road (Route 19) possible in either direction between mile post 12 and 18, in the vicinity of Old Māmalahoa Highway, beginning Saturday, Jan. 6 from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. for guardrail clearing and cleaning.

PAPA‘ALOA TO O‘OKALA

Single lane closure on Hawai‘i Belt Road (Route 19) possible in either direction, between mile post 23 and 27.6, in the vicinity of Stevens Road, on Monday, Jan. 8 through Friday, Jan. 12, from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. for applying new roadway striping and reflective markers.

— QUEEN KA‘AHUMANU HIGHWAY (ROUTE 19) —

KAILUA-KONA (WEEKEND WORK)

Single lane closure on Queen Ka‘ahumanu Highway (Route 19) possible in either direction, between Kaiminani Drive and Palani Road on Saturday, Jan. 6 and Sunday, Jan. 7, from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. for inspection and cleaning of media from drainage.

KAILUA-KONA

Single lane closure on Queen Ka‘ahumanu Highway (Route 19) possible in either direction, in the vicinity of Ala Nui kaloko and Palani Road on Monday, Jan. 8 through Friday, Jan. 12, from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. for yearly drainage cleaning.

— KEA‘AU-PĀHOA ROAD (ROUTE 130) —

Single lane closure on Kea‘au-Pāhoa Road (Route 130) possible in either direction between mile post 0 and 5, in the vicinity of Hawai‘i Belt Road and Puakalo Street, on Monday, Jan. 8 through Friday, Jan. 12 from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. for vegetation cutting and guardrail cleaning.

KEA‘AU (WEEKEND WORK)

Single lane closure on Kea‘au-Pāhoa Road (Route 130) possible in either direction between mile post 4 and 7, on Saturday, Jan. 6 from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. for vegetation cutting.

Shoulder lane closure on Kea‘au-Pāhoa Road (Route 130) possible in either direction between mile post 4 and 10, on Saturday, Jan. 6 from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. for guardrail clearing and cleaning.

Single lane closure on Māmalahoa Highway (Route 190) possible in either direction, between mile post 6 and 8, beginning Monday, Jan. 8 through Friday, Jan. 12 from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. for shoulder work.

PU‘UANAHULU

Single lane closure on Māmalahoa Highway (Route 190) possible in either direction between mile post 16.9 and 26.02, beginning Monday, Jan. 8 through Friday, Jan. 12 from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. for application of new striping and reflective markers on the roadway.

— KOHALA MOUNTAIN ROAD (ROUTE 250) —

Single lane closure on Kohala Mountain Road (Route 250) possible in either direction between mile post 6.17 and 10.6, on Saturday, Jan. 6 from 8 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. for resurfacing and reconstructing the roadway and weakened shoulder.
