Big Island Now poll results: Voters have lots of ideas for last-minute holiday gifts

Christmas is here and for those still shopping for gifts to give on Christmas Eve or Christmas Day, your time is up!

Last week, Big Island Now asked readers what the best last-minute holiday gifts were. From coffee to a lei, 81 of the 567 voters who participated in the poll decided all the options were worthwhile.

But it was a gift card for Walmart or Target coming in first with 92 votes. In last place was an ukulele with only 34 votes.

  • Walmart or Target gift cards. My friends and family can choose exactly what they want: 92 (16%)
  • All of the above: 81 (14%)
  • Kona coffee. What’s better than a fresh roast: 49 (8%)
  • Mauna Loa macadamia nuts. A classic stocking stuffer: 49 (8%)
  • I don’t celebrate the holiday: 61 (10%)
  • Big Island Candies signature shortbreads. Perfect when paired with Kona coffee: 60 (10%)
  • None of the above: 54 (9%)
  • Money is tight but I always give a hug, kiss and a lei: 52 (9%)
  • Experiences are better than material gifts. Spa day on the Kohala Coast: 35 (6%)
  • An ukulele. Every keiki should have one: 34 (5%)
