8:05 a.m. Friday update:  Hawai‘i Belt Road, or Highway 19, at Maulua Gulch, is now open in both lanes. 

Original post: A portion of Hawai‘i Belt Road, or Highway 19, at Maulua Gulch, is closed to Hilo-bound traffic as a landslide is covering the lane.

Contraflow for passenger-size vehicles only. More information will be provided as it becomes available.
