Hawai‘i Island police seek public help finding teen boy

Hawai’i Island police are asking for the public’s help in locating 15-year-old Kainalu Santos-Castro who is reported as a runaway.

He was last seen in the 1700 block of Kino‘ole Street in Hilo on Monday at around 6:30 p.m.

He is Spanish, about 5 feet 5 inches tall, 152 pounds, medium build, fair complexion, short brown hair, and hazel eyes. He was last seen wearing a white T-shirt and black shorts.

Police ask anyone with information on his whereabouts to call the Police Department’s non-emergency line at 935-3311.

Tipsters who prefer to remain anonymous may call the island-wide Crime Stoppers number at 961-8300 and may be eligible for a reward of up to $1,000.
