Hawai‘i Island police seek public help finding 15-year-old boy

Hawai’i Island Police are asking for the public’s assistance in locating 15-year-old Samthen Rinton Ainos who was reported as a runaway.

He was last seen in the area of King Kamehameha Avenue in the Ka‘ū District on Friday at approximately 9:51 p.m.

He is a Micronesian male, small build, approximately 5 feet tall, 115 pounds, short black hair, and brown eyes. He was last seen wearing a white shirt and blue shorts.

Police ask anyone with any information on his whereabouts to call the department’s non-emergency line at 808-935-3311, or Officer Rodney Kekaualua, Jr., at 808-939-2520.

Tipsters who prefer to remain anonymous may call the island-wide Crime Stoppers number at 808-961-8300 and may be eligible for a reward of up to $1,000.
