UPDATE: Hawai‘i Island police locate missing 11-year-old boy

Nov. 22 update: Hawai’i Island police report that 11-year-old Kamaluhia Kauinui, who was previously reported as an endangered runaway, was located in Pahoa on Wednesday in good health.

Original post: Hawai’i Island police are asking for the public’s for help in locating 11-year-old Kamaluhia Kauinui who was reported as a runaway this morning.

He was last seen in the 100 block of Kapiolani Street in Hilo on Monday at around 3 p.m.

Kamaluhia is Hawaiian, about 5-feet tall, 140 pounds, large build, medium brown hair, and brown eyes. He was last seen wearing a white t-shirt and gray camouflage colored surf shorts.

Due to his age, he is considered as an endangered runaway.

Police ask anyone with information on the boy’s whereabouts to call the department’s non-emergency line at 935-3311.
