Puna Geothermal Venture will host its quarterly in-person meeting in Pāhoa on Tuesday where they will provide the latest updates from the plant.

One of those recent developments is a new production well.

“We are steadily increasing our power output. In September, we commissioned a new production well, and our current output stands at approximately 30 megawatts of energy,” said Michael Kaleikini, Ormat’s Senior Director, Hawaiʻi Affairs.

The meeting will take place at the Pāhoa Neighborhood Facility, at 15-2906 Pāhoa Village Rd. at 4 p.m. Not only will they provide updates, but Kaleikini said they will also take questions from the community and share the proposed 2024 community meeting schedule.
