Veteran’s Day is coming up on Nov. 11. It’s a day to honor the men and women who have served our country and protected our freedoms.

The Big Island celebrates veterans with a parade every year in Hilo. On Saturday, the community gathered for the 16th annual Hawai‘i Island Veterans Day Parade, which marched from near the King Kamehameha I statue on Hilo Bayfront and will wind its way throughout the downtown area.

The parade theme, “Celebrate Service,” focused on increasing the involvement of veterans and the community to serve those in need.

With that in mind, we’d like to know what you think veterans in the community face as challenges on a day-to-day basis.
