Hawai‘i State Federal Credit Union promotes 3 people in management team

Hawai‘i State Federal Credit Union has promoted Duke Gipaya to assistant vice president, corporate facilities management, Trisha Aguirre to Salt Lake Branch manager, and Genesis Nicklaw to operations division manager.

“Duke, Trisha and Genesis have consistently demonstrated their commitment to Hawaii State FCU and have all played integral roles in the growth of our organization – from the opening of our new headquarters, and several new branches on O‘ahu and Maui, to our newest digital banking features,” said Andrew Rosen, president and CEO of Hawai‘i State FCU. “I am confident they will excel in their new roles and will continue to contribute to the success of our credit union.”

Duke Gipaya, assistant vice president, corporate facilities management

In this new role, Gipaya will be responsible for planning, organizing, and directing facilities management activities for the credit union. Gipaya began his career at Hawai‘i State FCU in 2006 as a call center representative. After transferring to the facilities department, he worked his way up the ranks from a representative to specialist, security specialist, section manager, and senior section manager. He was pivotal in successfully launching Hawai‘i State FCU’s Salt Lake, Ewa Beach, and Safeway Branches, as well as the new headquarters earlier this year.

Genesis Nicklaw, operations division manager

Nicklaw joined Hawai‘i State FCU in 2004 as a card center representative and has held several positions within the electronic service department, including specialist, supervisor, and most recently, department manager. Nicklaw is credited with playing an integral role in facilitating the credit union’s digital banking upgrade in 2022, helping to gain a competitive edge in the Hawai‘i market. In her new role as operations division manager, Nicklaw will be responsible for directing, controlling, and overseeing a wide range of operation functions, including back-office operations, card operations, digital services, fraud management, branch support, and more.

Trisha Aguirre, Salt Lake Branch manager

Aguirre joined Hawai‘i State FCU in 2017 and most recently served at the assistant branch manager at the credit union’s Salt Lake Branch where she played a significant role in helping the branch to become the top overall branch in the company in the first quarter of 2023. Prior to joining Hawai‘i State FCU, she held positions at HawaiiUSA Federal Credit Union and Mann Mortgage. As Hawai‘i State FCU’s Salt Lake Branch manager, Aguirre will oversee branch operations, sales, staff training and development.
