Kailua-Kona Public Library temporarily closed for air conditioning replacement starting Saturday

West Hawai’i bookworms be aware, the Kailua-Kona Public Library will be closed temporarily to replace the air conditioning system beginning Saturday until November.

The last day for all library services at the Kailua-Kona branch will be on Friday.

The book drop will close on Friday at 4 p.m. and will remain locked for the duration of the repair project. Borrowed items may be returned to any other public library during the closure.

During the temporary closure, patrons may visit the two closest libraries, Kealakekua Public Library, located at 81-6619 Mamalahoa Highway, or the Thelma Parker Memorial Public and School Library at 67-1209 Mamalahoa Highway.

At this time, the air conditioning replacement project is scheduled to be completed by the end of November 2023. Updates will be posted on Kailua-Kona Public Library’s web page.
