Hawai‘i Department of Transportation announced the lane closure schedules for the week of Aug. 26 to Sept. 1. Closures may change at any time without further notice. All projects are weather permitting.

— KUAKINI HIGHWAY / MĀMALAHOA HIGHWAY (ROUTE 11) —

KEA‘AU

Single lane closure on Māmalahoa Highway (Route 11) between mile post 7 and 9, in the vicinity of Old Volcano Road and North Road, on Monday, Aug. 28, through Friday, Sept. 1, 8:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. for vegetation cutting.

MOUNTAIN VIEW

Single lane closure on Māmalahoa Highway (Route 11) between mile post 13 and 14, fronting Mountain View Elementary School, on Monday, Aug. 28, through Friday, Sept. 1, 8:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. for installation of permanent striping on the speed hump at Mountain View Elementary School.

Single lane closure on Māmalahoa Highway (Route 11) between mile post 14.16 and 14.37, in the vicinity of South Lauko Road and North Lauko Road, on Monday, Aug. 28, through Friday, Sept. 1, 8:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. for installation of permanent striping on the speed hump at Mountain View Aloha Gas Station.

Single lane closure on Māmalahoa Highway (Route 11) between mile post 14.39 and 14.47, in the vicinity of North Lauko Road and Mountain View Park, on Monday, Aug. 28, through Friday, Sept. 1, 8:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. for installation of permanent striping on the speed hump at Mountain View Post Office.

Single lane closure on Māmalahoa Highway (Route 11) possible in either direction between mile post 105.69 and 105.87, on Monday, Aug. 28, through Friday, Sept. 1, 8:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. for installation of permanent striping on the speed hump at Honaunau Elementary School.

Single lane closure on Hawai‘i Belt Road (Route 19) possible in either direction, between mile post 7.06 and 7.14, in the vicinity of Old Māmalahoa Highway and Ka‘apoko Homestead Road, beginning Monday, Aug. 28 through Friday, Sept. 1, from 8:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. for installation of permanent striping on the speed hump at the intersection of Hawai‘i Belt Road and Old Mamalahoa Highway.

HAKALAU TO NINOLE (WEEKEND WORK)

Single lane closure on Hawai‘i Belt Road (Route 19) possible in either direction, between mile post 15.7 and 17.8, in the vicinity of Leopolino Road, on Saturday, Aug. 26 and Sunday, Aug. 27, from 8:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. for repaving work.

HAKALAU TO NINOLE

Single lane closure on Hawai‘i Belt Road (Route 19) possible in either direction, between mile post 15.7 and 17.8, in the vicinity of Leopolino Road, on Monday, Aug. 28 through Friday, Sept. 1, from 8:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. for repaving work.

HONOKA‘A

Single lane closure on Hawai‘i Belt Road (Route 19) possible in either direction, between mile post 37.72 amd 37.73, in the vicinity of Kalopa Road on Monday, Aug. 28, through Friday, Sept. 1, from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. for HECO to replace substandard utility poles and restring overhead lines.

HONOKA‘A TO KAMUELA (WEEKEND WORK)

Single lane closure on Hawai‘i Belt Road (Route 19) possible in either direction in the vicinity of Mud Lane and Iokua Place on Saturday, Aug. 26 and Sunday, Aug. 27 from 8 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. for paving work.

Single lane closure on Hawai‘i Belt Road (Route 19) possible in either direction, in the vicinity of Mud Lane and Iokua Place on Monday, Aug. 28 through Friday, Sept. 1 from 8 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. for paving work.

Single lane closure on Kawaihae Road (Route 19) possible in either direction, between mile post 57.03 and 57.1, on Monday, Aug. 28 through Friday Sept. 1 from 8 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. for installation of permanent striping on the speed hump at the Waimea Community Center.

— PĀHOA-KALAPANA ROAD (ROUTE 130) —

Single lane closure on Pāhoa-Kalapana Road (Route 130) possible in either direction between mile post 11.4 and 11.45, in the vicinity of Post Office Road beginning Monday, Aug. 28, through Friday, Sept. 1 from 8:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. for installation of permanent striping on the speed hump at the intersection of Pahoa-Kalapana Road and Post Office Road.

— MĀMALOHA HIGHWAY (ROUTE 190) —

Single lane closure on Hawai‘i Belt Road (Route 190) possible in either direction, between mile post 0.18 and 0.23, in the vicinity of Ahuli Circle, beginning Monday, Aug. 28 through Friday, Sept. 1 from 8:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. for installation of permanent striping on the speed hump at Ulu Laau Lane.

Single lane closure on Hawai‘i Belt Road (Route 190) possible in either direction, between mile post 14 and 16, beginning Monday, Aug. 28 through Friday, Sept. 1 from 8:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. for vegetation cutting

Single lane closure on Hawai‘i Belt Road (Route 190) possible in either direction, between mile post 16.9 and 26, beginning Monday, Aug. 28 through Friday, Sept. 1 from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. for crews to work on highway safety improvements, strengthening and extending shoulders.

KALAOA

Single lane closure on Hawai‘i Belt Road (Route 190) possible in either direction in the vicinity of Onaona Drive and Makalei Drive, beginning Monday, Aug. 28 through Friday, Sept. 1 from 8:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. for vegetation cutting and shoulder work.

— KOHALA MOUNTAIN ROAD (ROUTE 250) —

Single lane closure on Kohala Mountain Road (Route 250) possible in either direction between mile post 6.17 and 10.6, on Saturday, Aug. 26, from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. for resurfacing and reconstructing the roadway and weakened shoulder.
