Hawaiʻi Gov. Josh Green awards singer Brian Evans with Special Recognition
Brian Evans, the singer who once ran several times for political office in order to bring attention to Sleep Apnea, received a Special Recognition from Hawai’i Gov. Josh Green.
This marks the fourth governor to award Evans with a Proclamation, Commendations, and in this case a special recognition by the current governor.
Evans, known for producing The Maui Celebrity Series, is known for his “crooner” genre. He was the opening act for numerous stars before headlining in Las Vegas for more than 15 years.
His novel, “Horrorscope,” was adapted into a graphic novel in 2021. It is in development to be a TV series, as is his series of short stories “Creature.” His videos “At Fenway,” “Creature at The Bates Motel,” and “It’s A Beautiful Game,” are mainstays on in-venue monitors in sports arenas throughout the world.
Evans released a new album “Brian Evans- A Crooner Acapella” on July 4. He intend to produce “Creature”- the pilot episode, on Maui.
“I appreciate the governors kind words, especially about sleep apnea. It is quite meaningful that he is also a doctor to say these things,” Evans said.
In Evans spare time he is preparing to hold a real estate license.
“Living in Hawaiʻi, and those I’ve had longstanding relationships with just made the idea make sense. It was one of the celebrities I’ve worked with for years who recommended it. I like to keep busy.”
